THE SPOILED UNDER-40 CROWD!!!
If you are 40 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning....Uphill...barefoot...BOTH ways YADDA YADDA YADDA

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that..... I'm over the ripe old age of forty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!

And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen!

Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take, like, a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!

Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! Nowhere was safe!

There were no MP3' s or Napsters! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself!

Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone. Cause - that's how we rolled, dig?

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen... forever!
And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel! NO REMOTES!!!

There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove! Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980 or before!

Regards,
The Over 40 Crowd

Missing Person - GA:
My sister's best friend, Rhonda Smith of Roswell, went missing in April 1984 at the age of 22. They found her boyfriend's truck, which she had borrowed, at the mall where she disappeared in Roswell.
She was never found. After an extensive search, the police discontinued efforts to locate her.
At the time of her disappearance she had long dark brown hair. She is about 6 feet tall with brown eyes and at the time she went missing she was a very outgoing, personable woman.
If anyone has any information as to Rhonda's whereabouts, please contact me ASAP!

Barbie Stuff - TX:
Back in the 70s I had a Barbie shopping plaza, Barbie townhouse, Barbie camper, Hawaiian Barbie with lei and grass skirt, and one of my stepsisters had a Barbie Pool Party. I gave what I had to my nieces back in the 80s and the items disappeared when they got too old to play with them.

Well, Mattel doesn't make those toys any more so now I am trying to find someone who might have them and is willing to sell to me for my daughter.

Items must be in good condition, have all the parts, and you must have them assembled or be able to show me that all the parts are there when assembled. Please, no broken, dirty, missing, or faulty pieces.

Price negotiable.
My email is wordtrix@hotmail.com.

I figure if I walk a dog per day nearly every day of the week I will be able to keep an exercise program going.
This is no joke or gimmick. I need to lose weight. I have struggled on sticking to exercise programs, including just walking, for quite a while now.
I'd like to stick to my area in the TCU area of Fort Worth since I can't afford the gas to drive all over the Metroplex.

Blow-Up Doll Party: (From the Smoking Gun):
Even in Florida it's illegal for a guy to get busy in broad daylight with two
women. Especially if the ladies are made of plastic.
Blow-up Doll Party
Floridian nabbed for public ménage a trois with plastic partners
FEBRUARY 5--A Florida man was arrested yesterday after he was spotted fondling and making out with a pair of blow-up dolls in a supermarket parking lot. Shoppers called cops when they spotted George Bartusek, 51, getting busy in the front seat of his 1998 Lincoln Town Car, which was parked directly in front of a Publix store. Evidence photos (seen below and here) showing Bartusek's inanimate partners were provided to TSG by the Cape Coral Police Department. According to a police report, witnesses told cops that Bartusek was "performing activity to two different blow up dolls in his vehicle that was consistent with masturbation and other simulated sexual activity." He was also spotted "aggressively" kissing the dolls. When confronted by police, Bartusek said that he was headed to Target to "get some clothes for his dolls." Bartusek, charged with breach of peace, was wearing shorts with a three-inch opening "in the crotch area." Of course, he "had no underwear on under the shorts," noted police. Bartusek is pictured at right in a Lee County Sheriff's Office mug shot. (4 pages)

Subject: Comedy Central's All New Joke of the Day!

Blonde

The Blonde Flight Attendant

An airline captain was helping a new blonde flight attendant prepare for her first overnight trip. Upon their arrival, the captain showed the flight attendant the best place for airline personnel to eat, shop, and stay overnight. The next morning as the pilot was preparing the crew for the day's route, he noticed the new stewardess was missing. He knew which room she was in at the hotel and called her up to ask what happened to her. She answered the phone, crying, and said, "I can't get out of the room!" "You can't get out of your room?"; the captain asked. "Why not?" She replied, "There are only three doors in here," she sobbed, "one is the bathroom, one is the closet, and one has a sign on it that says 'Do Not Disturb'!"

9 tips for breaking a bad habit

02:05 PM CST on Sunday, January 11, 2009

McClatchy Newspapers

With New Year's resolutions still fresh, here's some advice from local therapists on putting bad habits to rest:

-- Make a list. Write down all of the reasons why you want to stop a certain behavior -- how it's hurting you and why getting rid of it will help. Look at that list often.

Associated Press The average smoker tries to quit about seven times before being successful. View larger More photos Photo store
-- Become more aware. Many habits are hard to break because they are unconscious impulses. Turn them into choices instead: Make a written or mental note every time you do something unwanted such as biting your nails or yelling at your kids.

-- Substitute other activities. It's easier to replace a bad habit than stop it. If you lose your temper often, for example, practice deep breathing or go for a walk.

-- Break it down. Think of the steps needed to shed a habit and tackle them one at a time. To stay motivated, keep your goals simple and realistic.

-- Reward yourself. Before you take on a bad habit, decide what you'll do to celebrate with every baby step you complete.

-- Remove temptations. If you overeat, keep junk food out of your house. If you crave cigarettes with coffee, switch to tea -- and avoid smoky bars or friends who light up.

-- Be patient. Bad habits develop over years, so you likely won't be able to ditch them immediately. The average smoker, in fact, tries to quit about seven times before being successful.

-- Find support. Tell family and friends about your goal. If there's a local or online support group for people with your problem, join it.

-- Get help for addictions. Some habits, particularly substance abuse and smoking, involve a real physical or emotional dependency and may require professional attention.
